What factors change the price of a move?

Every honest quote in Oman is built from these seven inputs. If a mover quotes without asking about them, the number will change on moving day.

  • Volume — measured by property size and how full it actually is, not just the bedroom count
  • Distance — a move inside Muscat, a move to Sohar and a move to Salalah are three different price bands
  • Access — floor level, lift availability and how close the truck can park at both ends
  • Labour — how many movers and how many hours the job realistically needs
  • Packing — full packing, partial packing, or none, plus the cost of materials
  • Dismantling and reassembly — beds, wardrobes and fitted units add time at both ends
  • Timing — end of month, weekends and school holiday periods are the busiest in Muscat

  • Do partial packing — pack clothes and books yourself, let the crew handle kitchen and fragile items
